Ships at Sea is on

The Nordic/Baltic curatorial workshop, Ships at Sea, has been launched at the Nordic House in Reykjavík. Their aim is to create a studio for independent curators where unrealized projects will be put to the test in a peer-reviewing process, hoping that good projects may become even better through dialogue and critique with colleagues. When the participating curators escape the round table, they will take part in Sequences’ last weekend activities. Hosted by the Nordic House in Reykjavik April 11-12, this pilot project is intended to become a regular, itinerant event based on open calls.

The curators currently taking part are Geir Haraldseth (NO), Rael Artel (EST), Rhea Dall (DK), Laura Mott (US) and Birta Guðjónsdóttir (IS). Ships at Sea – Nordic Baltic Curators’ Caucus is coordinated by Sparwasser HQ, Berlin, Lise Nellemann (DK) and Viktorija Siaulyte (LT) and moderated by Dorothée Kirch (IS) from the Icelandic Art Center.
