Vitaskuld, Auðvitað! is an edited video version of a live event that The Icelandic Love Corporation made for the project Stray Beacons at Reykjavik Art Festival in 2009. The work was performed at a live event the 17th May 2009 along with brass band Svanurinn at Garðskagi-lighthouse in Reykjanes Peninsula. The work will be exhibited within a video screening project at Sequences 2009 at Regnboginn cinema.
The Icelandic Love Corporation (ILC) is an art collective that includes artists Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir, Jóní Jónsdóttir and Eirún Sigurdardóttir. They have worked collaboratively for over a decade but in 2007 they held a retrospective at the Reykjavik Art Museum – Hafnarhús, followed by a retrospective book. They have undertaken a diverse range of work, especially performance as well as taking part in numerous exhibitions over their career. They have been working together since they graduated from the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1996 and have since respectively studied in Hochschule der Kunste Berlin, The Royal Danish Academy of the Arts, Copenhagen and Pratt Institute, New York City. They are currently based in Reykjavik, Iceland.
