Francesca Grilli (b.1978) focuses on research about human communication and its different forms. Whether it is visually evoked through the Italian sign language in her performances or as voice-over in her video production, her research is concentrated on two significant aspects concerning sound: the way it is treated in every facet, and the space of action of the spectator. Sound is an important tool with which she is able to control the intensity of her artwork. Her works are inspired by her personal memories which are linked to her family and her daily life.
Francesca Grilli lives and works between Bologna and Amsterdam.
